The material lines behind every segment

Seven product lines, characterised for excitation and emission response. Each links through to a conversation with our technical team — there is no public datasheet download here yet.

UV fluorescent pigments

UV fluorescent pigments

Excited by non-visible light in the UV-A, UV-B or UV-C region, emitting visible light while showing no colour in daylight. Luminochem's fluorescent security materials cover emission from ice blue to deep red, with excitation and emission wavelength, colour and intensity characterised, and lot-to-lot separation built in for verification against a retained reference sample.

UV bi- and tri-fluorescent pigments

UV bi- and tri-fluorescent pigments

Invisible in daylight, showing a distinct colour under UV-A, then a different colour again under UV-B and UV-C light. A secondary, and where needed a tertiary, level of security from a single pigment — each transition characterised and reproducible lot to lot, for a layered check rather than a single pass-fail read.

Water-soluble UV fluorescent dyes

Water-soluble UV fluorescent dyes

Proprietary water-soluble fluorescent dyes developed for inkjet technology, security fibres and any water-based solution. Available across our usual colour range with the added benefit of an environmentally friendlier ink system. Excited by UV-A and UV-C light with high emission intensity, and invisible under daylight.

UV fluorescent dispersions

UV fluorescent dispersions

Some of our pigments are also supplied as aqueous dispersions, saving the formulation work on the customer's side. Virtually invisible on paper under daylight conditions; on exposure to UV-A light the fluorescence intensity becomes visible, making these dispersions effective for coding and marking applications.

Anti-Stokes (up-converting) pigments

Anti-Stokes (up-converting) pigments

Luminescent materials that convert invisible near-infrared laser light to visible light, with the anti-Stokes shift producing an emission at a shorter wavelength than the excitation. The effect shows as a concentrated, bright colour spot. High-quality pigments suited to offset printing, effective for authentication in security tagging across paper or polymer industries.

NIR absorbing pigments and dyes

NIR absorbing pigments and dyes

Viewed through a device carrying a near-infrared (NIR) camera, a surface printed with an NIR pigment or dye reads as a black or dark grey area, while traditional pigments and dyes stay invisible to the same detector. Specialised infrared detectors pick up this effect so a machine-readable feature can be built in — from QR-style codes to semi-disappearing images.

Electronic Detection Systems

Electronic Detection Systems

Luminochem's electronic detection systems are developed to make it straightforward for customers to detect and authenticate products carrying security features built from our materials — handheld and fixed readers matched to the pigment set in use.
